In Praise of Text
Knowledge is never as useful as it's supposed to be.
Certainly javascript has been quite the annoyance. It is easy enough to
torture users with 4.x browsers by forcing them to click Javascript Error
OK buttons every time a new page loads but is much harder to write for all
platforms -- for obscure browsers and PDAs and the legally blind.
And although I am tempted from time to time to load up on every dynamic
device at my disposal I am never tempted for long.
This site was never meant to be a diary. It was certainly not meant to
serve as a resume. Whatever this site does do, it does not reveal all --
neither script nor soul. If it reveals anything it must reveal the
malleability of words.
